Error description
Changing an administrator password through the Admin Center
using the the following steps:
1. Define a server connection
2. Click the "Server Properties" tab
3. Click "Administrators"
4. Check the admin ADMIN and click "Modify Administrator"
5. Change the password
6. The password has now been changed on the TSM Server.
will result in the following error if any action is done that
requires contacting the server.
"A connection with the server could be established, result code
35."
Following this, if you,
7. Click "Modify Server Connection" to change the password to the new password specified in step 5 above, the following error is received:
"Your ID and password are not valid for this server.
Use the server's properties notebook to update your ID and
password. "
Activity log shows:
12/04/06 09:25:19 ANR0418W Session 417 for
administrator
ADMIN(AIX) is refused because an
incorrect password was submitted
(SESSION: 417)
Using the Server Properties notebook does resolve this issue.
The admin command lines, dsmadmc, accepts the new password.
